This video illustrates the vertical motion parallax. You can see two objects moving in space (even if on the video the binocular effect is not perceptible) with relative speeds. For example, the blue star has an accelerated (so non-monotonic) movement whereas the red moon has a monotonic movement which is a reference relatively to the star movement.
