Multi-pulse dynamics in a Mamyshev oscillator

We report on the multi-pulse dynamics in an erbium-doped fiber Mamyshev oscillator. It was demonstrated that, in addition to the single pulse, the multi-pulse patterns could be observed by properly adjusting the pump power, where the multiple pulses operated in random distributed state or bound state. In particular, the multiple pulses could exhibit apparent difference in intensity, which was attributed to the unique step-like saturable absorption property of Mamyshev oscillator. The individual pulse spectrum could be also accessed by utilizing dispersive Fourier transform technique. It was found that the multiple pulses with different intensities correspond to different spectral profiles. These findings would give some new insights into the pulse dynamics in Mamyshev oscillators.
